An impulse buy in store. It was just a causal stroll in Sephora one day during lunch. The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons (S$79) palette was launched together with this - Tarte Tartelette In Bloom (S$69) palette and I liked both from watching a few YouTube videos. So I went to swatch both palettes side by side and the Tartelette in Bloom definitely won me over. I can see myself using all the shades in this palette, whereas the Chocolate Bon Bons had quite a few shades that I just know that I will never reach for.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the amazing packaging......

It is beautiful. Simple and nice. It is really compact and comes with a huge ass mirror! This might just be the perfect traveling palette.

Came with two eye look tutorials. Helpful!

Love the size of the palette. This is a simple bronze-y eye look I did with this palette. Close up photo at the end of this post.

It is clear that each row has their own theme of shades.
From cool tone taupes, to warm browns, and rich reds.

ROW 1

Charmer is a matte bone colour. I use this all over the lid and also to highlight my brow bone.

Jetsetter is a matte cool tone brown.

Rocker is a metallic taupe brown shade.

Smokeshow is a matte dark charcoal black.

ROW 2

Flower Child is a matte beige shade.

Smarty Pants is a matte warm brown. I love this in the crease.

Firecracker is an ultra metallic bronze. My favourite shade in the whole palette and probably the reason that made me get it. I love to mix this with a bit of Funny Girl as a lid shade.

Activist is a matte dark brown.

ROW 3

Funny Girl is a metallic champagne shade. Not as pigmented as the other two shades but it is perfect for a pop of light on the center of the lids or as inner corner highlight.

Sweetheart is a matte pink shade.

Rebel is a matte warm deep brown. Another of my favourite shades. I love to blend this in the outer crease.

Leader is a matte deep maroon / burgundy shade.

Quick and simple day time look. I have Smarty Pants and Rebel in the crease. Firecracker and Funny Girl mixed on the lids. Leader to deepen the outer v and a tiny bit of Activist on the outer lash line.

Really pleasantly surprised by this palette and I do recommend it if you're on the hunt for a neutral everyday palette.

xoxo

  1. So beautiful, you and the palette! I'm so torn between getting this and the Too Faced Original Chocolate Bar palette :(

    1. Thank you Angel :) I guess if you are looking for a good all rounder palette with a mix of different shades, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar is a better choice - good mix of browns, golds, olives and burgundy shades. However, I do have to admit I have been reaching for the Tartelette in Bloom more recently for a simple day to day makeup for work xoxo

  4. Thank you for your reply! I have actually been trying to tell myself that I don't need this palette since I probably have too many neutral palettes already but from every reviews I've seen it really seems like a holy grail product! I guess I should really give it a go? Ahh, poor wallet haha.

    1. Hahaha we can never have enough do we! But I really think this palette is a worthy investment. I love it so much. This and the Chocolate Bar, and the ABH MR palette are all amazing higher end palettes :) xoxo

  5. Hey! Love this review - I'm tossing up on this one or else the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette; I want something with matte and shimmer for everyday and when I travel etc - I already have TF Chocolate Bar and Naked 1 and 3 but I really want a smaller, versatile everyday palette! Which would you recommend? If it makes a difference, I'm super pale (NARS Mont Blanc) and neutral to cool toned with brown eyes! I'm so torn! x

    1. Hey dear, if you want something more versatile, I will recommend this Tartelette in Bloom over Natural Eyes. Tartelette has cool, warm, and even burgundy shades! You can compare these swatches to my Too Faced Natural Eyes' post http://www.xueqiii.com/2016/03/too-faced-natural-eyes-palette-review.html xoxo

  6. Hi! Love your review! I just got the Tartelette in Bloom, but now I'm really debating whether I should return it and get the ABH MR. Which one would you recommend (for both everyday and parties)? :)
