Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color | Review and Lip Swatches
Thursday, January 28, 2016
Here I have a new lip swatch post on the Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Colors. I own 3 very similar colors, all in the pink family - Rose Bud, Wine Room, Smokin' Hot Pink. And also a new nude shade called Bare it All - which is suppose to be a dupe for MAC's Velvet Teddy - I will be doing a comparison between these two shades side by side on my lips in this post.
Formula - These lipsticks are more of a slight-creamy to matte finish. It will slowly dry down to a semi-matte finish as you wear it but definitely not a super drying matte. It is still creamy and will not look like its cracking on the lips throughout the day. According to WetnWild, these lipsticks contain hydrating skin-care ingredients such as: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A & E help smooth lips.
Shades - They have a huge shade range from nudes to pinks/reds to mauves and oranges and even super dark shades. Bound to find something you like.
Price - These are dirt cheap! At a price tag of only US$1.99. How crazy. You can get these for around 5-6 SGD online and also at selected Watsons stores around Singapore (I would suggest to try larger outlets and those at city/town areas e.g Taka, Raffles City).

Bare It All is a nude that has a peachy undertone. Very flattering on me and I can foresee myself wearing this quite often. Very happy with this new purchase.

Wet n Wild Bare It All vs MAC Velvet Teddy
Here is the two lipsticks side by side, and they look almost identical in the tube! I will be going into detail on their formula and shade tones.

Close up swatch on my arm.

I have to say they do look similar under certain lighting, but they are not exact 100% dupes. The formula and especially the undertones are quite different.
Formula - Velvet Teddy is slightly more matte than Bare It All and I recommend exfoliating and hydrating your lips before applying. I have to say I prefer the Wet n Wild formula over the Matte MAC lipsticks.
Shade - Velvet Teddy has a cooler undertone and looks more brown in person. I have seen this shade on tons of people and it looks so so so different on many people - depending on your skin tone and the pigmentation of your lips. It actually looks a lot darker on my lips, whereas Bare It All has a more neutral and peachy undertone that is rather flattering on me. I quite enjoy it.

Rose Bud is a neutral pink that is suitable for daily wear and pretty much looks good with any look.
Wine Room is darker shade of cool tone pink with a little bit of mauve. As the name suggests, it is of a wine-pink shade.
Smokin Hot Pink is a hot pink (the names are all quite straight forward as to how the colors will look like haha)
Lovely swatches! Looks like I need to keep an eye out for Bare It All.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle! Yes, Bare It All is a great neutral everyday shade to have in your collection :)
